    Instrument Firmware Updates

The following new features are available with the 2013 instrument firmware:

Modal Impact Testing — There is a new recording mode for Modal Analysis. You can use an impact hammer and connect up to three response sensors to take these recordings.

Cross Channel Spectrum (ODS) — This new measurement mode enables you to compare frequency response data across channels.

Ability to export modal impact and Cross Channel Spectrum (ODS) data — You can export modal and Cross Channel Spectrum (ODS) data from your instrument in Universal File Format (UFF) and import this into Operating Deflection Shape (ODS) software such as Vibrant Technology ME'scope for further analysis. Once you have done this you can do ODS analysis using the Cross Channel Spectrum (ODS) data.

Cross Channel Phase enhancements — The existing Cross Channel Phase measure mode been enhanced, making it easier to select the machine speed of interest and view your data onscreen.

Orbit Plot enhancements — In addition to the existing Orbit Plot measure mode, new functionality is now available, enabling you to collect orbit plot data on route. You can use a laser or Keyphasor tach to record tach pulses for any waveform recording that has tach triggering and one average.

Support for up to 60 and 80 kHz Fmax — In addition to the normal options of up to 40 kHz, there is added support for these ultrasonic Fmax ranges.

Cable Test mode — You can use this new mode to display a live voltage graph on all connected channels. This enables you to conduct a quick check onsite to ensure your cables are working. This in turn saves you diagnosing poor quality readings that result from a faulty cable. So now you can avoid sending your instrument in for repair when it is the cable that is at fault.
