    Test Engineer - New Zealand,

    This is a full time role based in Christchurch, New Zealand working in a SCRUM team. You will be assisting in the delivery of high quality applications across various platforms through User Story Analysis, planning, creation and execution of Tests. Our software products are designed to integrate with our hardware products for monitoring machinery health.

If you have an excellent understanding of testing principles and techniques, understanding of the software development lifecycle and a high level of knowledge on computers, operating systems and network infrastructure, this is the role for you.

    Your duties will include:

    • Design and execution of both manual and automated test procedures
    • Collaboration with development teams for the planning of test activities
    • Design, implementation and ongoing improvement of product verification and validation processes and procedures
    • Investigation and analysis of issues reported by customers
    • Providing customer support via phone and email as required
    • Ensuring the quality and accuracy of requirements and design specifications
    • Providing input to the design of new products and features
    • Assisting in the development, and continual improvement, of overall company quality standards

    To thrive in this position you will have an excellent understanding of testing principles and techniques, software development lifecycle and operating systems and network infrastructure. You will also have good relational database design, querying, and customer relationship and support skills. A basic understanding of a range of programming/scripting languages, electronic and mechanical concepts are required.

    You view learning as a lifelong process and demonstrate willingness to undertake training for qualifications such as ISTQB, learn new testing techniques and the fundamentals of Vibration Analysis.

    ISTQB Certification, a Tertiary qualification in Computer Science and at least 3 years experience in software testing and test automation will be highly regarded. You have SQL experience and ideally some Network protocol testing experience, basic programming skills and basic mechanical knowledge. A knowledge of basic electronic principles would be an definite advantage in this role.

    You will have demonstrated initiative and problem solving in previous roles, and be passionate about agile environments. You will naturally self-manage your workload and priorities and thrive on development methodologies such as SCRUM.
