2009-06-05 Commtest Moves to New Premises
Nearly a decade after moving into our previous central city facility, unprecedented growth at Commtest Instruments has resulted in our New Zealand Production and Engineering departments relocating to brand new, custom-designed offices.
The newly constructed facility includes a state-of-the-art production area designed to meet strict ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) requirements, and comfortable work and meeting areas for our management and engineering teams spread across nearly 800 square meters of floorspace. New amenities include a staff lunch room and recreation space, three meeting areas, boardroom and ample onsite parking for staff and visitors.

The new building overlooks Hagley Park, Christchurch's unique central city greenspace, and provides spectacular views of the Port Hills to the city's south. Located minutes from the city's CBD and international airport facilities, the site is among the first in the city to be constructed using 'green' building initiatives.
Energy saving features include 'smart' air conditioning systems, and energy efficient lighting throughout. Full-length tinted and glazed windows reduce the need for artificial light while minimizing heating requirements. Staff are encouraged to walk or bicycle to work, and on-site bicycle racks and energy-efficient shower facilities are provided to make car-free travel more convenient and pleasant.
