Profiler Calibration

QUESTION

How can I test and recalibrate my Profiler instrument?

ANSWER

Any accredited laboratory that has the ability to measure displacement using gauge blocks can carry out a calibration check on the Profiler instrument. They can re-certify the instrument using selected points in the displacement range, but they cannot adjust the calibration or repair any defects highlighted during the calibration check.

Faulty instruments must be returned to Commtest for repair and/or recalibration. To test the calibration of an instrument we select eighty points through the Profiler instrument's range then check each point five times to achieve a repeatability specification.
