TCP/IP Network Connection Ports
QUESTION
What ports do I need to enable in my firewall/router so that I can connect:
- the Ascent program to a network-based database?
OR
- the Ascent and OnlineManager programs to a vbOnline device?
ANSWER
Both InterBase and Firebird database systems use port 3050 (TCP) for TCP/IP communication. The Commtest OnlineManager program uses port 10001 to connect to the vbOnline device via TCP/IP.
